Himanshu Chakraborty received a Ph.D. in Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, India in 2015.  She then held a research assistant (provisional) position in Theoretical Sciences Unit at Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Bangalore, India.  Himanshu joined Professor Klein’s research group as a postdoctoral fellow in 2016.

Research Interests

  • Theory of the electronic structure of atoms, molecules, surfaces and solids 
  • First-principles calculations to determine electrical and chemical properties of nano-scale materials 
  • Optical properties of conjugated polymers, graphene and other related 2D materials
