Hasnain Hafiz received his B. Sc. degree in physics from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2009, and M. Sc. degree in physics from Northeastern University in 2012. He is currently a graduate student and PhD candidate in the group of Prof. Arun Bansil at Northeastern University.

Research Interests

  • Electronic structure and spectroscopy of strongly correlated materials, high-Tc superconductors, topological insulators, Li-ion batteries, two-dimensional atomically thin films beyond graphene, nanosystems, and other novel materials. 
  • Theoretical modeling of the spectral responses of various experimental probes, including angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES), optical spectra, resonant inelastic X-ray scattering (RIXS), and scanning tunneling spectroscopy (STM).
