Devika Sil was a graduate student in the group of Professor Eric Borguet at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.  She was born in Kolkata, India, where she spent her early years.  She has Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the West Bengal University of Technology (India) and a Master’s in Chemical Engineering from the University of Calcutta, India, where she investigated photo catalysis for environmental remediation.  She was the recipient of a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) from the Department of Science of Technology, India (2008-2009). She joined the Sol Gel division of the Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute as a JRF where she worked on the fabrication of sol-gel optical and anti-reflection coatings. She joined Temple University in January 2010 as a graduate student in the Borguet group.  She finished her doctoral studies in 2015.
